ABOUT

A research lab for the whole stack

Innvoq is a frontier AI research laboratory. We invent the architectures, train the models, build the harness systems that let them act, design the compute that runs them, and publish what we learn along the way.

Mission and vision

MISSION

To build general intelligence that is understood, safe and useful, and to share the science that gets us there.

VISION

A world where every person and institution can call on intelligence as reliably as they call on electricity.

THE NAME

Innvoq

/ɪnˈvoʊk/ · “in-voke”

Inninnovation
The work of inventing what doesn't exist yet.
voqVirtual Output Queueing
A switching technique in which every input keeps a separate queue for each output, so no single blocked path holds up the rest. It's a quiet nod to the systems engineering under everything we build.
Innvoqinvoke
Said aloud, the name is invoke: to call something into being. Every model call is an invocation.

WHY VOQ

The switch behind the name

Virtual Output Queueing is how a network switch keeps one slow path from stalling the rest. Scroll the steps; the simulation follows.
Virtual Output QueueingThree inputs each keep a separate queue for each of three outputs. The queues connect through a switch to the outputs. Input 1's queue for output 1 is waiting, while its queue for output 2 continues to flow.Input 1O1O2O3Input 2O1O2O3Input 3O1O2O3SwitchOutput 1Output 2Output 3

SIMULATED · OUTPUT 1 HELD BUSY

  1. STEP 1

    One queue per input

Packets wait in arrival order. Output 1 is busy, so the packet at the head waits, and every packet behind it waits too, even those bound for free outputs. This is head-of-line blocking.

  2. STEP 2

    One queue per output

Virtual Output Queueing gives each input a separate queue for every destination. Packets for output 1 still wait, but they no longer hold up the rest, and the delivered count climbs.

  3. STEP 3

    Inn + voq

Innovation, and the systems engineering under it. Said aloud, the name is invoke: to call something into being.

VALUES

What we hold to

  • Rigour

We measure before we claim: real numbers, cited sources, no superlatives.

  • Emergence

Big capability comes from careful compounding, so we're patient with the work.

  • Openness

We publish, explain and invite scrutiny, in plain language with the method visible.

  • Responsibility

Capability and safety advance together. Safety is a pillar, never a footnote.

  • Craft

From kernels to keynotes, details matter.

HOW WE WORK

Show the working

  1. We build every layer

From architecture to silicon, so we can explain each one and improve the parts that matter.

  2. We lead with evidence

We state the result, the method and the date. If a number has no source, we don't publish it.

  3. We're honest about limits

We say what a system can't do yet in the same place we say what it can.

  4. We publish what we learn

Papers, write-ups and explanations that others can read, check and build on.
